Lady Constance Gwladys Herbert was born on 24 April 1859. She married, firstly, St. George Henry Lowther, 4th Earl of Lonsdale, son of Henry Lowther, 3rd Earl of Lonsdale and Emily Susan Caulfeild, on 6 July 1878. She married, secondly, Frederick Oliver Robinson, 2nd Marquess of Ripon, son of George Frederick Samuel Robinson, 1st Marquess of Ripon and Henrietta Anne Theodosia Vyner, on 7 May 1885. She died on 27 October 1917 at age 58.
She was the daughter of Sidney Herbert, 1st Baron Herbert of Lea and Elizabeth à Court Repington. As a result of her marriage, Lady Constance Gwladys Herbert was styled as Countess of Lonsdale on 6 July 1878. From 6 July 1878, her married name became Lowther. From 7 May 1885, her married name became Robinson. As a result of her marriage, Lady Constance Gwladys Herbert was styled as Marchioness of Ripon on 9 July 1909.
