1647 Louise Henriette van Nassau (1627-1667) and Friedrich Wilhelm of Brandenburg (1620-1688) by Gerrit van Honthorst
The Hohenzollern rulers of Prussia and then Germany are their
descendants. He was known as the Great Elector or Große Kurfürst. Armor
was already obsolete, but it was a status symbol like an executive jet is
today.
An early Hohenzollern portrait shows Louise Henriette of Nassau
wearing a white dress with a jeweled hemline and sleeves joined to bodice by
clasps.
