Frances Teresa Stuart was a legendary beauty. Born a Stuart, she married the Duke of Richmond and Lennox, also a Stuart, but became the beloved of King Charles II who may have had one child by her, according to her Wikipedia article. The article states, "The great diarist Samuel Pepys recorded that she was the greatest beauty he ever saw. She had numerous suitors, including the Duke of Buckingham and Francis Digby, son of the Earl of Bristol, whose unrequited love for her was celebrated by Dryden." The national symbol of the UK, "Britannia" is based on her.
