This portrait of Liselotte von der Pfalz shows her just barely wearing a
lace-edged chemise. The 1600s costuming site kipar.org has this note
about this image (in their 1690s paintings page): "Liselotte von der
Pfalz, La Palatine, Madame, Duchess d'Orléans, wife of Philippe, brother
of Louis XIV, 1690s. In this portrait en deshabillé note the lace all around
the neckline of the chemise. This is the lace which is visible at the top of
the stomacher. French." She does not look to be in her 40s in this image
so I estimate the date to be in the 1670s, the 80s at the latest.
