1843 Countess Croÿ by Josef Kriehuber (Boris Wilnitsky)

According to Wikipedia, "The House of Croÿ is an international family of European mediatized nobility which held a seat in the Imperial Diet from 1486, and was elevated to the rank of Imperial Princes in 1594. In 1913 the family had branches in Belgium, France, Prussia, Hungary, and Serbia."

This 1843 Kriehuber print provides a good illustration of a side curl coiffure where a strand of braided hair is rolled up near or around the ear.
