1860 (21 November) Adelaide of Schleswig Holstein by Camille Silvy

From Paul Frecker; sepia tone removed and image lightened to bring out detail by gogm. She was the daughter of Queen Victoria's half-sister Feodora von Hohenlohe-Langenburg as was Feodora of Saxe-Meiningen. Adelaide's daughter Augusta Viktoria married the future Kaiser Wilhelm II.

Adelaide wears fully-developed pagoda sleeves that are part of her light weight paletot and a multi-flounced dome crinoline in this 1861 Silvy portrait.
