1866 Archduchess Mathilde of Austria

She was the daughter of Archduchess Hildegard Luise. She was to marry King Umberto of Italy, but she hid a cigarette in her dress and the dress caught fire and she died when she was only 18 in 1867. So on 21 April 1868 Umberto married his first cousin, Margherita of Savoy.

The era of full dome crinolines is past. Archduchess Mathila wears a half dome-half cone crinoline characteristic of the later 1860s.
