Infanta Amelia is a bit pudgy, but gives a good demonstration of ca. 1869 evening dress without the vee waistline of earlier decades and the bateau under-neckline decorated with ruching instead of a bertha. She wears a straight coiffure with a few frills that is not as severe as those earlier in the crinoline era.
