King Leopoled I of Belgium's second wife, Louise Marie d'Orleans was a beauty as shown by this portrait. King Leopold I was married to Princess Charlotte of Great Britain who died in childbirth. Louise Marie had a daughter who was named Charlotte in honor of Leopold's first wife. Princess Charlotte of Belgium married Archduke Maximilian of Austria who became the front man in the French occupation of Mexico as Emperor Maximilian. Charlotte became Empress Carlota, the subject of another subalbum
