Lady Maria is definitely photographed by Winter in the high crinoline era. Her sleeves appear to have cuffs through which the sleeves of her chemisette pass to the outside. She may be wearing a zouave jacket, but one that matches the rest of her dress instead of being of red or some other contrasting color with ornate embroidered-work decoration. Alternatively, she wears a jacket bodice with dark panels flanking the central column of buttons.
