1855 Princess Royal Victoria by Franz Xaver Winterhalter (Royal Collection)
Princess Royal Victoria was noted for her beauty when she was younger as shown here by Winterhalter from 1855 when she was only about 15. I was not able to find it posted on the Royal Collection on 3 March 2010 - this version of the image came from another source.
This shows the basic elements of formal dress that existed from 1837 through 1869 - the full skirt, vee waistline, quarter length sleeves, and vee neckline - all under a straight coiffure.
