1856 Princess Royal Victoria dressed for her debut by Franz Xaver Winterhalter (Hessische Hausstiffung, Schloss Fasanerie Fulda Germany)

Winterhalter again portrayed the young and pretty Princess Royal in 1856. According to http://www.kaiserinfriedrich.de/, this was for her first drawing room - her debut.

Posted to the Sex, Vintage & Royals blog on 6 May 2011. This is the best version of this image I have seen.

Winterhalter portraits are always lovely, but details of Princess Royal Victoria's dress are lost in this 1856 portrait. She liked to wear blue hair ornaments.
