Eugénie wearing a mantilla

This 1895 print shows a young Eugenia de Montijo/Empress Eugenie wearing a "mantilla.” The next image shows this was based on a Mayer & Pierson photo.

From the New York City Public Library collection.

This image is hard to date, but she wears a full skirt with at least one flounce and what look to be expansive frilly sleeves.

Keywords:  Mayer & Pierson, Empress Eugénie, Eugénie de Montijo, Condesa de Teba, de Palafox-Portocarrero de Guzmán y Kirkpatrick family, Bonaparte family, Countess, Empress, French, wavy coiffure, lace veil, full sleeves, full skirt, flounces
