1816 Mrs. Mary Fisher by John Constable (Fitzwilliam Museum - Cambridge, Cambridgeshire UK)

Artchive lists this as "Portrait of Mrs Mary Fisher, wife of John Fisher, Archdeacon of Berkshire." There is an article in thepeerage for an Archdeacon (of Dorset) John Fisher, but it makes no reference to Archdeacon Fisher's wife. If this is the right John Deacon and he married once, she had one daughter.

Mrs. Fisher's dress has a lace bertha and modesty piece as well as the typical short puffed sleeves in this 1816 Constable portrait.

Keywords:  1816, Mrs. Fisher, Ficher family, British, hurluberlu coiffure, bateauu neckline, modesty piece, bertha, lace, quarter length puffed sleeves, Empire waistline, close skirt, necklace, jeweled crucifix, earrings, wrap
