1834 (issue date) Harriet Arbuthnot by William Ensom after Sir Thomas Lawrence

From Wikimedia; sepia tone removed and image enlarged one tenth by gogm.

The déshabillé Directoire fashion has evolved into Empire era style worn by Harriet Arbuthnot with a lace modesty piece. Her sleeves are complex - the sleeve to right looks like a mameluke sleeve while the sleeve to left looks like it may have a notched section.
