She was the daughter of a Bavarian banker, Johann Gottlieb von Süsskind, who married her off to an aristocrat to gain status. He finally became a baron. Her father’s German-language Wikipedia article is here. Her genealogical sketch is here. This 1833 work is a posthumous portrait. She died in 1831 so the date for this image is “ca. 1831." Back then, bankers married the political rulers. Consuelo Vanderbilt did later in the century. Today, the child of politically powerful people, such as an ex-President of the USA and a candidate for the job, marries a hedge fund manager.

Freiin Elisabetha's dress has early 1830s' style. I am not sure if the darts of the bodice are shown properly.
