Priscilla (Wellesley-Pole), Countess of Westmorland, by John Rogers Herbert (auctioned by Christie's)

Priscilla was the Wellesley-Pole girl to land a titled husband, Earl John Fane. Her article in thepeerage is here. According to her Wikipedia article, she was an artist and had the respect of PM Lord Melbourne and her uncle, the Duke of Wellington. This mutual respect caused Lord Melbourne to use her as an intermediary between himself and Wellington in negotiations to form a coalition government.

Pricilla's dress may have a pleated bodice; it is definitely not a pelisse bodice. Her highly puffed sleeves and waist band date this to around 1830.
