1818 Augusta, Duchess of Cambridge by William Beechey (Royal Collection)

From Wikimedia.

Young Duchess Augusta of Cambridge wears a dress showing strong Empire influence in this 1818 Beechey portrait. Her coiffure shows traces of hurluberlu influence as well as a large mass behind her tiara. Rouleaux appear frequently in the fashion plates of the era, but not in these albums. Augusta's dress has a narrow rouleau above a wide lace flounce.
