The subject of this López y Portaña work is known as Princess Amalie of Saxony and she was a writer, musician, and composer. She and her family had to flee their castle several times during to the Napoléonic wars. What I cannot determine is how she is portrayed wearing a Spanish order sash and order bow. Her limited Wikipedia article is here. The article makes no mention of a Spanish connection, but she may have gone on the road to play and promote her music.
