Marie-Louise died in 1719 so the origins of this portrait are hard to define. The portraitist was active during her lifetime.
The Duchess wears a shield-like half bodice mirroring her vee waistline and her gray over-skirt is tacked on to her rust-colored skirt. The curl over each eye dates this to the turn of that century.
