ca. 1707 (based on age of child) Markgräfin Franziska Sibylla Augusta von Baden-Baden, née Saxe-Lauenburg, with Ludwig Georg Simpert by ? (location unknown to gogm)
Ludwig Georg Simpert was born in 1702. This picture shows just how rigid the roles of royal males were - his mother has him with a gun far too big for him to aim or even carry. The portrait is poignant - Sibylle lost three children, all sons, in infancy before having Ludwig Georg Simpert. She also lost her husband Ludwig Wilhelm to a war injury in 1707.
Princess Sibylla Augusta wears a masculine-inspired hunting dress that is still very feminine with full notched sleeves with engageantes.
