1726 Henriette von Zerbsten by Antoine Pesne (auctioned)
I am unable to
find anything about the sitter. However, a member of the Anhalt-Zerbst
family, Sophie,
went on to fame and acclaim in Russia in the second half of that century.
Henriette wears something like an attifet headdress and a
decolleté neckline in this 1726 Pesne portrait. This could be an example
of theatrical, van Dyck revival, dress with puffed slashed sleeves with back
flared cuffs.
