1769 (?) Madame la princesse héréditaire de Hesse-Darmstadt by Louis Carrogis (Musée Condé - Chantilly France) Photo - René-Gabriel Ojéda size increased by half

This could be Caroline of Hesse-Darmstadt. If so, there are Subalbums for her daughters Louise and Wilhelmina Louisa.

Photo - René-Gabriel Ojéda; size increased by half.

The Princess wears a robe à la française with wide panniers or, in advance of French Ladies depicted by Carrogis - a robe à la circassienne, that reach over the floor and an under-skirt decorated with two tiers of wide ruching in this 1769(?) Carrogis drawing.

Keywords:  Carrogis, Princess, Hesse family, long high coiffure, feathered cap, square neckline, ruffles, elbow length close sleeves, bows, panniers, ruffles, under-skirt, floral bodice ornament, choker necklace
