1785 Countess of San Martino by Pompeo Batoni (Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, Madrid Spain)
Image lightened to highlight details by gogm.
This portrait of Countess San Martino in high coiffure and formal and frilly dress contrasts strongly with Baronne Crussol's "with it" dress. The Countess' stomacher is reduced to a thin strip running from neckline to the other edge of her bodice. She may even be wearing a robe à la française.
