Marie Thérèse Louise de Savoie-Carignan (1749-1792), princesse de Lamballe by Antoine-François Callet (Châteaux de Versailles et de Trianon - Versailles France)

Photo - Daniel Arnaudet.

This is probably the most well known portrait of the Princesse de Lamballe. It shows her wearing a monumental coiffure à la quinot decorated with a swag of flowers. She wears a fichu-like scarf revealing what appears to be an under-bodice. She wears a tent bodice and the mass of material behind suggests she is wearing a robe à la circassienne.
