1852 Isabel II, Queen of Spain (1830-1904), with her daughter, Infanta Maria-Isabel of Spain (1851-1931), later Contessa di Girgenti by Franz Xavier Winterhalter (Colección Real, Madrid)

This 1852 work by Winterhalter showing Isabel II in lavishly decorated formal dress is one of the better-known portraits of her. There is so much material that she appears to be wearing a cage crinoline, but that was invented around 1856.
