1885 María Cristina by Juan Aldaz y Sancho (Ministerio de Economía y Hacienda, Madrid (?))

This portrait, possibly the best known portrait of this Queen, was displayed on a "MinHac" Web site operated by the listed ministry.

This portrait shows María Cristina wearing a pale-colored, probably off-white or ivory, evening dress with an ornamented stomacher panel. The tip of her stomacher panel sets on the tip of her cuirasse bodice while her skirt appears to have criss-cross panels. María Cristina was a serious tight lacer.
