1550 Isabel de Portugal by William Scrots (Muzeum Narodowe w Poznaniu - Poznań, Wielkopolska Poland)

How William Scrots came to paint this portrait is probably an interesting story.

Isabel's dress is full of puffed cloth ornaments, even on her collar. She wears deep pink under-sleeves revealed by slashing. Making the image substantially lighter (not shown) suggests her dress has a dark partlet and a crescent neckline. Coiffures like this were prominent in the Victorian/Romantic era.
