Isabel’s dress has features that Isabel Clara Eugenia would recognize a century later including the conical skirt, the under-skirt, the gold- and silver-embroidery, partlet, girdle, and dangling pendant chain. The almost puffed virago sleeves are a preview of what’s to come in the early 1600s. But the flared sleeves are ripe for morphing into hanging sleeves. Her dress is almost a saya. I do not know if the metal adornments on her dress are embroidery or complex-shaped hanging metal jewels.
