1842 Princesse Adélaïde d’Orléans by Franz Winterhalter (Versailles)

Princesse Adélaïde d’Orléans wears a lace shawl and has a heavier shawl at the ready in this 1842 Winterhalter. Her bodice has a pair of vee-shaped panels meeting the vee neckline at a point and horizontal panels of somewhat contrasting material in the stomacher of her bodice that is not really a functioning stomacher, but an ornamental part of her bodice instead.
