1590s Lady, traditionally identified as Lady Denman in a black velvet dress with an embroidered bodice and lace apron, lace ruff, jewelled headdress, and hat, holding fan by circle of Marcus Gheeraerts the Younger (auctioned by Christie's)

From the Christie's Web site.

Lady Denman's stomacher has two circular ribbed motifs. She wears a ruffle-like headdress of small pearls that point forward like an attifet. Her upper sleeves are decorated with jewels She appears to be wearing a cameo of Queen Elizabeth, similar to the order bows worn by later royalty and nobility. Another preview of things to come is her lace apron that covers her entire under-skirt. All in all, an unusual dress.
