ca. 1690 Françoise Marie de Bourbon, wife of Philippe d'Orléans and daughter of Louis XIV of France by Pierre Gobert (auctioned by Heritage Auction Galleries)

Françoise Marie wears a double-vee bodice, created by jeweled bands rather than a leather plastron, in this Gobert portrait from about 1690. Her sleeves have three layers - a blue layer created by her bodice, a gold lace and orange layer, and finally white under-sleeves ending in engageantes.
