Mathilde wearing an unusual outer garment
From Paul Frecker; sepia tone removed and image enlarged by half by gogm.
Princess Mathilde's dress and chair merge to make interpretation difficult. She appears to be wearing a short sleeve jacket or sleeves cape with peplum. Her full sleeves, adorned with ruched bands to complement those of her skirt, emerge from the jacket's or cape's sleeves, or may be part of the sleeves. She also wears a longer outer garment that lays on her skirt.
