1889 Princess Alexandra wearing a jacket bodice by Lafayette

While I did not get this image from the Victoria and Albert Museum, I did use their site to find the name of the photographer and date.

Princess Alexandra appears to be wearing a jacket over a vest cuirasse bodice fastened to one side with two buttons in this 1889 photo. Above the vest is her chemisette that may also extend below in the form of long tabs that could also be attached to the bottom of her vest.
