ca. 1750 Rhoda Astley (née Delaval) by Arthur Pond (National Portrait Gallery - London UK)

Her article in thepeerage is here while an article in www.pastelists.com is here. The UK National Trust has copies of one of her works for sale here.

From Wikimedia. The original image is heavily spotted throughout as well as having other flaws that I removed with Photoshop. The image became noticeably darker in the zones where I had removed the spots. There were spots of all sizes reminiscent of Swift's jingle,

"Big fleas have little fleas upon their backs to bite 'em.

And little fleas have lesser fleas and on ad infinitum."

So there are small spots remaining in their manifold thousands.

Lady Rhoda's bodice is 1700s while her big puffy sleeves and cuffs could be out of a Beaubrun brothers' portrait. Cuffs were going out of style by 1750.
