"ca. 1800" Lady, said to be a Princess Galatzina by French school (auctioned by Sotheby's)

The date given by Sotheby's, circa 1800, is a mystery. Dresses like this, that could have been worn by Marie Antoinette, were a no-no at the time in France. The coiffure is late 1770s. Maybe this was a French or French-style painter practicing in Russia? Her modesty piece is formed into graceful turns.
