1905 Josefina de Alvear de Errázuriz by Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida (Museo Nacional de Arte Decorativo - Buenos Aires Argentina)

Josefina's spectacular dress has bare-shoulder sleeves reaching to her forearm and an over-skirt joined to her waistline with gathered pleats in this 1905 Sorolla y Bástida portrait. The pouter-pigeon line is limited to the upper bodice with the help of a white scarf or similar ornament and a fur-trimmed over-bodice of fabric matching her lower bodice and skirt that covers her bust.
