Countess Craven

This is from the Bain collection of the USA Library of Congress. The Wikipedia article for her husband William had this, "Cornelia Martin, (1877-19 May 1961), the only daughter of a wealthy American banker, Bradley Martin at Grace Church, New York City, on 18 April 1893. His bride had just passed her sixteenth birthday..."

I cropped the Bain collection image and fixed the top and right sides with Photoshop.

The basqued double-vee waistline and huge leg-o-mutton sleeves suggest this photo dates from the middle 1890s.

Keywords:  Countess, British, curly coiffure, feathered hat, high enclosing neckline, jacket bodice, lapels, long leg-o-mutton sleeves, cuffs, double basque waistline, close skirt, necklace
