The museum’s notes include:  "Evening dress of purple silk overlaid with purple silk chiffon and satin. With a pleated satin waistband, two dramatic purple silk tassels at the side of the hip, a bodice draped with chiffon, elbow length sleeves and an inner bodice bust and back trimmed with appliqué metallic purple and silver embroidery." It was worn by Heather Firbank.

This 1912 evening dress is a wonder of simplicity compared to other Lucile evening dresses of this period.
