1537 Jane Seymour by Hans Holbein the Younger (Kunsthistorisches Museum - Wien, Austria)

Her Wikipedia article includes this:  "After her death, Henry wore black for the next three months and did not remarry for three years, although marriage negotiations were tentatively started soon after her death. She was Henry's favourite wife because, historians have speculated, she gave birth to a male heir. When he died in 1547, Henry was buried beside her."

1537 Jane Seymour by Hans Holbein the Younger (Kunsthistorisches Museum - Wien, Austria) From liveinternet.ru:users:marylai:post292168318 UPGRADE

This is a well-known image of fashion reactionary Jane Seymour, wife number three of Henry VIII, wearing her trademark English hood. Her gown appears to have a natural-, not a vee-, waistline based on the location of her girdle.

Herbert Norris describes this gown in Tudor Costume and Fashion, p.267 (Dover re-issue 1997) - "The bodice, sleeves, and skirt are of crimson velvet; the turned-back sleeve-linings appear to be silk of the same shade, entirely covered by a network of gold cord or perhaps bugle beads. The false sleeves and underskirt are of cloth of silver damask. Notice should be taken of the beautiful pendant or pectoral on the bodice."

An out take of her head and bodice is here. An out take of her sleeves is here.
