1609-1610 Maria de Medici by Frans Pourbus the Younger (Rijksmueum)
This is a copy of her portrait by the same artist that hangs in the Louvre.
The white expanded base of her bodice forms part of a fleur de lys continuing up with her stomacher. The velvet of her skirt and sleeves are adorned with fleur de lys. The cuffs are flared back - engageantes in reverse. Her successor, Anne of Spain/Austria, wore an almost identical dress.
