Her birth date, 1538, brings the range of dates into question. This is not a 12-year old girl. It may date to her relationship with Henri III and that is 1579 or some time not much later.

Diane’s bodice has a very high crescent neckline and an intricately woven partlet. The black portions of her dress are made of different materials.
