1560s early Isabella de Medici by Allesandro Allori (location unknown to gogm)


Upgrade image from the lost gallery's photostream on flickr; cracked wood and spot flaws removed with clone tool of Photoshop by gogm.

While Spanish influence is evident, her neckline is an open vee, instead of a high enclosing collar, and false sleeves are missing. The white of her chemise ("camica") sleeves show. This is a picture of casual elegance.
