This photo of German petit royal Wiltrud von Bayern shows the embroidery that could be found and the attention paid to bodices before the war. It is likely that the vertical panels framing the center of her bodice in a revers and stomacher arrangement ended just below the bottom of the photo and the dress had an over hanging bodice. Her dress has two necklines separated by a panel of cloth - a partlet centuries after the word "partlet" disappeared from everyday use.
