Catherine of Braganza's Visit by Willem van de Velde II (Sandwich Guildhall - Sandwich, Kent UK)


This gives an idea of what dresses with puffed sleeves looked like when used for day wear. However, if this is Catherine's arrival at Portsmouth in 1662, she may be wearing a guardainfante dress. The berthas match the bertha she wears for her 1661 Stoop portrait in which she wears a guardainfante.
