SUBALBUM:  Sofia Sergeyevna Trubetskaya

According to her Wikipedia article, she was the daughter of either Prince Sergey Vasilyevich Trubetskoy or Tsar Nicholas I. She married Charles de Morny who was the extra-marital son of Hortense de Beauharnais (the wife of Louis Bonaparte and queen of Holland) and Charles Joseph, Comte de Flahaut. Russian names can be difficult to spell in English and Trubetzkoi is a good example. It can also be spelled Troubetzkoi, Trubetskoi, Troubetskoi, Trubetzkoy, Troubetzkoy, Trubetskoy, and Troubetskoy. I believe there are other variations, including replacing the final i or y with iy - that, I believe, is phonetically correct. The cyrillic spelling is Трубецкой.

Sophie became the Duchesse de Morny. She was beautiful and fashion-conscious.

This Subalbum originally had images of three Trubetskoy Ladies, bu there were enough images to make separate Subalbums for Sofia and Elizaveta. The image for an unnamed Trubetskaya was moved to the Russian Style Between 1837 - 1870 Album and a group of Disdéri photos could not be found to confirm identification so the image was removed. The name of the Subalbum name was changed from "Sophie and Elizaveta Trubetezkaya" to "Sofia Sergeyevna Trubetskaya" and it was moved here and re-posted as a new Subalbum.
