Eugénie de Guzman, Comtesse de Teba, Empress of France print

This print shows a young Empress Eugénie (proven by the crown to her right) wearing an evening dress with a dark bertha and three flounces of dark lace.

From the New York City Public Library collection.

This is another print of Empress Eugénie early in her marriage wearing an evening gown decorated with apparently black lace as a bertha and three flounces on a skirt not expanded by a cage crinoline, dating this to between her marriage in 1853 and the emergence of the cage crinoline in about 1856.
