Anna Constantia von Brockdorff was born to a minor noble and a girl from a merchant family. She had a series of romantic adventures before winding up in the Saxon court of Augustus the Strong who fell in love with her, displaced the Princess of Teschen, became his mistress in 1705, lost his favor, and was banished in 1713.
