1579 Infanta Isabel Clara Eugenia by Alonso Sánchez Coello (Colección Real/Prado)

A well-dressed 13-year old Isabel Clara Eugenia poses in a saya in this 1579 Coello portrait. The Prado allows access to this image of a painting that is part of the Colección Real. Born in on 12 August, 1566, daughter of Philip II of Spain and his third wife, Elisabeth of Valois. She lived well into the 1600s.

Out takes from this image can be seen here and here.

Her gown is similar to that worn by her sister in her 1585 portrait, in white instead of black. Her gown is interesting in having a sleeve roll between two sets of tabs.
