1750s (early) Elisabeth Christine of Prussia, nee Braunschweig Bevern by Antoine Pesne

Elisabeth Christine of Braunschweig Bevern had the misfortune to marry Frederick II ("The Great"); they rarely met and she had no children.

The bodice of her robe allemande is slit down part of the front revealing a luxurious chemise that is fringed with lace to create a modesty piece. Her gown has tight, short sleeves ending in voluminous engageantes characteristic of much of the century.
